Cycling ride helps fund AIDS fight

By SALLY CLAUNCH , Star-Telegram Staff Writer

When Cheri Cetto's good friend was dying of AIDS (news - web sites) about seven years ago, she saw his family and the people he knew avoid him. She felt bad that along with dealing with his disease, he had to face it alone.

The experience opened her eyes to what people who live with AIDs and HIV (news - web sites) go through. She decided to do something to educate people and make them aware of the disease.

"My husband and I feel strongly that we want to be connected with people with AIDS/HIV and to support them," she said. "It's extremely important for people to not be so complacent about it because it's a very big problem."
