Roger-Luc Chayer, lyrical French horn player, is a double first prize of the Nice National Conservatory of Music in France (1991) and a symphony conductor that worked as much in France and in Canada. He is well famous for his rich horn sound that was many times rewarded and mentioned by critics. Compared to the cello of the brass, Chayer's French horn technique is made evident in this recording.
Véronique Lucignano is an Italian and Canadian musician famous for her powerful style on the trumpet. She decided to record rare titles with this CD and it was never made again else where.
The National Quintet is a woodwind quintet from Montreal (Quebec) that received the support of the Canadian Prime minister, Mr. Brian Mulroney in 1988. The chamber ensemble gave 100 free concerts in Quebec during its first 6 months of activity and recorded this CD at the end of those 6 months, making it a unique experience. Highly professional, the musicians of the National Quintet, directed by Roger-Luc Chayer, was one of the most popular in Quebec.
